Catherine Kitts elected new Cumberland Ward Councillor - on October 5

Catherine Kitts who finished second in the 2018 Municipal election in Orléans ward has defeated the other 9 candidates in the October 5th Cumberland Ward by-election to replace Stephen Blais, who was elected in February 2020 as the Orleans Liberal MPP. Kitts got over 50% of the vote while the other candidates split the other 50%. Progressive candidate Yvette Ashiri finished second with 20% of the vote while Lyse-Pascale Imanuco finished 3rd. Cumberland ward was without a Councillor for over 8 months. The next general City of Ottawa Municipal election is in 2022. Results:
