Musician John Allaire plays at Metcalfe’s “2023 Live Music In The Park Series” this Thursday, June 22nd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (weather permitting) in the gazebo at Victoria Park in Metcalfe. Allaire has been described as "the next Canadian music legend" and "a new Neil Young".
The Embrun Family House is holding its "Loonie-toonie" fundraiser at the Embrun Independent on Thursday, June 22nd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be emergency vehicles on display, as well as balloons and face painting for donations.
Local Author Phil Gurski is launching his newest book, From Village to Vimy to Victory, at the Russell Branch of the library Thursday, June 22nd at 7 p.m. In it he recounts the stories of the 150 men of Russell who went to the First World War, 19 of whom did not return, and the impact of the war locally.

The 125th birthday party for the Police Village of Russell is Friday, June 23rd at the Keith M. Boyd Museum on Concession Street. Bike tour signup is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Russell Ringers mini concert is at 7 p.m. and Awfle Knawfle will be at a meet and greet at 7:45 p.m. The Russell historic bus tour on Saturday, June 24th is sold out.
There will be daily free admission from June 24th to Sept. 3rd for children and youth at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum.
Russell Township is holding a Recreation Centre information session on Wednesday June 28th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Township Hall at 717 Notre-Dame Street, Embrun. For more information on this project, including the plans, see www.russell.ca/recreationcomplex.
