It’s spring cleaning time so the Carlsbad Springs Optimist Club asks our listeners to save their metal, electronics, bottles and aluminum cans and bring them to the Community Centre on Saturday, May 28th. The Club’s annual recycling drive will run from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 6020 Piperville Road. In partnership with Ecology Ottawa the club will give a free tree seedling to donors. The City of Ottawa has a Planning Primer Program to help residents learn about the mysteries of its land-use planning process. The first part is the afternoon of May 3rd, but the second is the evening of May 10th so you can still register at There have been reports of dog attacks in the Sarsfield area. Local residents have contacted Councillor Kitts and are awaiting action from the City.

Are you considering working in the restaurant industry? There are numerous jobs available in many of the restaurants, brasseries and food trucks in our listening area.

When CJRO has talked to management at the new A&W, Grilled Shawarma and Asian Express in Embrun, the Big Bite Bistro in Russell, and Palki Cuisine in Carlsbad Springs, all have said they need staff. Now Pizza Hut will be opening in Embrun soon and they are actively seeking staff for the new location, which will be at 1032 Notre Dame.
