Updated: Nov 8
Hello, bonjour, and welcome to CJRO News on CJRO Radio. I’m Candice Vetter, reporting from Embrun.
At a meeting held by the proponents of the approved Tewin development members of the project’s community advisory committee were told numerous reports had been sent to the City of Ottawa in July. The Tewin website states the reports are being revised for final submission and copies will be made publicly available once finalized. A copy of the presentation from the public meeting is supposed to be accessible from the website but the link does not work. The reports sent to the City include: Existing Conditions and Preliminary Opportunities, Mobility Existing Conditions, Natural Heritage Report, Water Budget Analysis, Hydrologic Impact Assessment, Geomorphology Study, Hydrogeologist Study, Geotechnical Study, Stage 1 Archaeological Study, and Public and Stakeholder Engagement Plan. The development would change over 400 hectares near Carlsbad Springs from rural to urban.

Marionville Energy Storage LP and Baseload Power LP, are proposing a lithium-ion battery energy storage system connected to Hydro One Network Inc.’s existing transmission electrical lines. The substation would be immediately southeast of the village of Marionville, halfway between Marionville Road and Morewood Road. The project is proposed to have a capacity of up to 75 megawatts and a four-hour duration. It would include battery storage enclosures, inverters, medium voltage transformers, gravel internal access roads, electrical collector and communication cabling, and a small transmission transformer substation. A meeting for the public and stakeholders is this Friday, November 10th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Morewood Community Centre, 17 Russell Street, Morewood.
