First star party since pandemic - RASC in Carp this Saturday, June 4

by Gary Boyle

After a long two years due to the Covid pandemic and social distancing protocols, the Ottawa Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is pleased to announce the first free public star party of the 2022 season. It will take place in the parking lot of the Carp library on Saturday, June 4 (weather permitting) at dusk.

Members of the Ottawa Centre will be on hand with their telescopes, showing the wonders of the universe and answering questions. Previous star parties have seen some 30 telescopes and 300 visitors.

If weather conditions are questionable on Saturday, a GO or NO GO decision will be made up late Saturday on the star party web page. The night before the star party, people can attend our virtual Zoom monthly meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. There is also a link on my website as well. Both links appear on my website: www.wondersofastronomy.com
