Petition for City to change tree bylaws
Ecology Ottawa, Greenspace Alliance, Horizon Ottawa, Just Food, CAFES, and two Carlsbad Springs residents have written to the City of Ottawa and launched a petition to change the bylaws for tree protection and site alteration. They have also suggested that reparations be made by the Taggart Group which recently clear cut 75 hectares (~185 acres), by replacing trees, adding tree cover over 25 years, and putting a permanent agricultural easement on the land which Taggart Group has stated is to be farmed.
